Dental Health Schemes – Public Dental Clinic Sydney

Sydney Park Dental accepts Child Dental Benefits Schedules and Oral Health Free for Service Scheme (OHFFSS) for Department of Veteran Affairs Members (DVA).

We’re not a free dental hospital Sydney, but we are open to the public at our dental clinic Sydney. We understand that dental services in NSW can be expensive, so we make as many concessions as we can to cater to you, our clients.

Child Dental Benefits Schedule

The Child Dental Benefits Scheme (CDBS) is a government program that provides financial assistance for children and teenagers aged 2-17 to receive dental treatment. It gives eligible children access to $1000 in dental services benefits over a period of two consecutive calendar years. Benefits cover an extensive range of services including examinations, x-rays, cleaning, fissure sealing, fillings, root canals and extractions.

Who can use the Child Dental Benefits Scheme?

To be eligible for the CDBS, a child must be aged 2-17 years old, have Medicare, and be part of a family that receives Family Tax Benefit Part A. The Family Tax Benefit is a government assessed benefit that depends on your family income, how many children you have, and how old they are. For more information or to find out if you your child is eligible for the Child Dental Benefits scheme please visit the NSW Health Website or by contacting Medicare.

Once you know your child is eligible, you can make an appointment with us under the Child Dental Benefits scheme. Sydney Park Dental can make on the spot claims for your child’s CDBS benefits with their Medicare card. To do so, we will ask you to sign a consent form that allows the dentist to claim the benefits for the child’s treatment directly from Medicare Australia on your behalf.

Oral Health Free for Service Scheme (OHFFSS) for Department of Veteran Affairs Members (DVA)

Sydney Park Dental is a registered provider that accepts Oral Health Free for Service Scheme (OHFFSS) vouchers. The OHFFSS is a NSW Health initiative that provides dental treatment and dentures to eligible NSW residents through a procurement scheme. Clients who are eligible for public oral health care and are issued an OHFFSS voucher can use it at Sydney Park Dental. For more information about OHFFSS vouchers, please visit the NSW Health website

How do I use my OHFFSS voucher?

After receiving a voucher for treatment from a public oral health centre, you should contact us to arrange an appointment as soon as possible or within 10 days of the date on the OHFFSS Voucher. Inform one of our friendly dentists that you have been referred from a public dental clinic and require treatment under the OHFFSS scheme.

On the day of your appointment, bring proof of identity and eligibility criteria with you. On receipt of the Oral Health Authority Voucher, our dentist will consult and complete your treatment plan here with you.

Department of Veteran Affairs Members (DVA)

Sydney Park Dental Care is a registered provider with the Department of Veteran Affairs and offers treatment for members of the DVA treatment under the OHFFSS scheme.
